The Council Structure and Role is a major element of the Peer Listeners' proposals and will be subject to the discretion of the elected Youth Council members in the future. there was considerable discussion over the feasibility of representing all the young people in Poole, and therefore the Peer Listeners were not content with just representation by location. As a result many ideas were discussed and the idea of 'associate members' was raised, with a representative from organisations and groups such as schools. Although the possibility of a non-voting 'associate member' was rejected and it was instead agreed that 'associate members' would be replaced by the 9 representatives from the secondary schools and the College in Poole. We discussed the possibilty of a rotating chairperson, however we agreed that without a permanent chair the meetings are not consistent and therefore a permanent chair is needed.
